Definition of Deep Cleaning

Cleaning is a process, which physically removes organic matter but does not necessarily destroy micro-organisms. In order to decontaminate patient equipment effectively all organic debris (for example, blood, tissue and other body fluids) must be removed during the cleaning process in order to reduce the risk of transmission of infectious agents.

For the purpose of a Deep Clean, a disinfectant is required. This is in the form of a detergent/ chlorine product.
